What Forgemage.net is
Forgemage.net connects Dofus players with smithmaguses. Players describe the item they want maged and the stats they are aiming for; smithmaguses offer their craft, discuss the job over chat, and take it on. The maging itself happens in the game, between players.
The site is a fan project, built by players for players. It sells no maging service itself: our role stops at putting you in touch (section 6).
Definitions
A few words come back throughout these terms:
- Player — a user looking to have an item maged. Also called client.
- Smithmagus — a user offering maging services through a public profile. Also called forgemage.
- Maging request — an announcement posted by a player: the item, the desired stats, the logistics and a budget in kamas.
- Kamas — the Dofus in-game currency. All budgets and payments between users on Forgemage.net are expressed in kamas, never in real money.
- Account — your personal access to the service. One account can carry a player profile, a smithmagus profile, or both.
Accepting these terms
Creating an account or using the service means you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with them, do not use the service.
The service evolves, and these terms will evolve with it. When a change matters, we announce it on the site before it takes effect. Keeping your account after that date means you accept the new version; the current date is always shown at the top of this page.
Your account
Signing up is free, with an email address and a password, or through your Discord account.
Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Create one account, for yourself: an account is personal and cannot be sold, lent or transferred. Anything done with your account is done under your responsibility, so keep your credentials to yourself and tell us quickly if you believe someone else is using them.
If you are under 15, you need the consent of a parent or guardian to create an account.
What the service includes
For players: searching smithmagus profiles with their reviews and specialties, posting maging requests, chatting with smithmaguses, keeping wishlists of favorites, and rating the work once it is done.
For smithmaguses: a public profile with a portfolio, browsing and answering maging requests, chatting with clients, statistics on your visibility, the Super Smithmagus program, and a referral program.
The core of the service is free. Optional subscriptions add comfort and visibility features (section 10). Features may evolve, appear or be retired as the platform grows.
Our role: putting you in touch
Forgemage.net is an intermediary. We are not a party to the agreements made between players and smithmaguses, and we perform no maging ourselves.
The price, the deadline, the handover of the item and the payment in kamas are settled between you, directly in the game. We never hold your kamas or your items, and no payment between users goes through the platform.
We therefore cannot guarantee that a request will find a taker, that a maging will reach the hoped-for stats, or that the other party will keep their word. What we can do is act on reports: see section 11.
Dofus and Ankama
Forgemage.net is an unofficial fansite. We are not affiliated with Ankama Games and Ankama endorses nothing on this site. Dofus, its items, its images and its game data belong to Ankama.
Using Forgemage.net never exempts you from the Dofus terms of use. In particular, everything arranged through the site must be paid in kamas, in the game. Buying or selling kamas, items, accounts or maging services for real money is forbidden on the platform; accounts involved in it are deleted.
Rules of conduct
The platform works because players and smithmaguses can trust what they read on it. So, for everyone: no impersonation, no misleading profiles, no harassment, no spam, no scams, and nothing illegal, whether in your profile, your requests, your messages or your reviews.
For smithmaguses: only take jobs you can actually do, honor what was agreed (stats, deadline, price) and follow the community charter you sign when you start.
For players: describe your item and your budget honestly, stay reachable while the job is running, and hand over the agreed payment once the work is delivered.
If a deal goes wrong, contact us (section 15). We review reports and sanction accounts when the facts are established.
Reviews
Once a request is completed, the player and the smithmagus can each rate the other. Reviews are public and feed profiles, search rankings and the Super Smithmagus program. They are the backbone of trust here.
A review must describe a real experience. Fake reviews, reviews of yourself or exchanged between accounts, and reviews used as blackmail are forbidden. We remove reviews that are insulting, unrelated to the job, or fraudulent, and sanction their authors.
Subscriptions
Pro and Elite subscriptions add visibility and comfort on top of the free service: unlimited browsing, appearing first in search, a premium badge, detailed statistics. Prices and the exact content of each plan are shown on the pricing page.
Subscriptions run monthly and renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid, which stays active until then.
Free premium days, such as those earned through the referral program, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or refunded. Plan prices and contents can change for future periods, never for one already paid.
Moderation and sanctions
We moderate public content (profiles, requests, portfolios, reviews, and messages that are reported to us) when it breaks these terms or the law.
Sanctions are proportionate: removing the content, a warning, suspending the account, or deleting it. Fraud, scams and real-money trading skip the ladder and lead straight to deletion.
You can also close your account yourself, at any time, from your account settings.
Intellectual property
The platform (code, design, texts, logo) is protected. You may not copy it, scrape it in bulk or reuse it outside the service. Dofus assets shown on the site remain Ankama's property.
What you post (your profile, your portfolio images, your requests and reviews) stays yours. By posting it you allow us to host it and show it on the platform, which is what the service is for. Only post content you have the rights to.
Your data
We collect what the service needs to run: your email address, your display name, your Discord identifier if you sign in with it, your profiles, your messages and your activity on the site, such as profile views and search statistics. We use it to run and improve the service. We sell it to no one.
You can read and correct your information from your account settings, and delete your account there too. Deleting your account anonymizes your personal data; content involving other users (messages, reviews) may remain, detached from your identity, because their conversations and reputations also depend on it.
Cookies and local storage are limited to what makes the site work: your session, your language, your theme.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the site fast and available, but it is provided as is: no uptime is promised, maintenance happens, features change.
We are not liable for what happens inside the game: a maging that fails, kamas or items lost in a deal with another user, or decisions Ankama takes about your game account. If another user cheats you, report it to us instead (section 8).
Nothing in these terms removes rights that the law grants you as a consumer.
Law, disputes and contact
These terms are governed by French law. If something goes wrong, talk to us first — most problems are solved directly. You can reach the maintainer through the GitHub page linked in the footer.
If no amicable solution is found, the competent French courts have jurisdiction.
